AfricaNewsAnalysis’ Niels Bartels interviews His Excellency Yusuf Tuggar, Nigerian Foreign Minister during the just-ended Berlin Global Dialogue.
The Berlin Global Dialogue is a relatively new but fast-rising international summit. It was founded in 2022 and held its first official conference in September 2023. The initiative was launched by economist Lars-Hendrik Röller, formerly Angela Merkel’s chief economic advisor, and is hosted by ESMT Berlin, a leading business school.
The Dialogue aims to bring together global leaders from politics, business, and academia to shape the future of the global economy in an era of fragmentation and transition. It focuses on fostering cooperation across regions and sectors to address challenges like geopolitical shifts, climate change, and digital transformation.
The Berlin Global Dialogue 2025, held at ESMT Berlin from October 22–25, brought together over 1,000 influential leaders from business, government, and academia. Under the theme “Shifting Power, Shaping Prosperity,” the summit explored how multipolarity can drive global stability and inclusive growth. Key speakers included among others Aminata Touré, former Prime Minister of Senegal; Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission and Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria.
The event emphasized transitions in global governance, climate strategy, and economic systems.
