Mercedes-Benz Trucks recently handed over the first of three new Mercedes-Benz Arocs Extent trucks to MTB GmbH from Nordstemmen in Lower Saxony. This special model, limited to just 100 units, was developed specifically for demanding construction site applications and combines robust construction with state-of-the-art technology and a distinctive design in dark chrome and matt weather grey.
“With the Arocs Extent, our drivers receive vehicles that not only offer the highest level of functionality but also make a clear statement. The design is also ingenious,” says Mayk Taherian, Managing Director of MTB GmbH. It’s a special moment for the family-run company from Lower Saxony: The three vehicles (Arocs 1853 LS, 1843 AK, and 2553 LK) are the first trucks over 7.5 tons in the fleet and also mark the start of a new partnership.
Exclusive special model with striking details
Special features include a front-end flap with integrated “Arocs” lettering in elegant dark chrome, LED headlights with auxiliary lights in the sun visor, and carbon-look trim elements. Stainless steel components such as axle caps and wheel nut caps underscore the high-quality workmanship.
Powerful engine options available
The vehicles are available with a Euro VI diesel engine OM470, OM471
(3rd generation), or the powerful OM473 – all of which are designed to cope with heavy-duty applications while maintaining high efficiency.
The first vehicle delivered to MTB GmbH is powered by the OM473. The inline six-cylinder engine has a displacement of 15.6 litres and produces 460 kW (625 hp). The high torque ensures superior power delivery, even under heavy loads in construction operations. A common rail injection system with X-Pulse pressure boosting up to a maximum pressure of 2,700 bar and turbo compound technology for utilizing additional exhaust energy are used for maximum efficiency.
Multimedia Cockpit Interactive2 comes as standard
The new system includes a high-resolution 12-inch instrument display and an optimized touchscreen for intuitive control of many vehicle functions at the touch of a button or via voice command – including direct access to vehicle-specific options such as auxiliary drives and enhanced truck navigation with Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC).
