Grüne Woche 2026: The EventFarm showcases the diversity of modern agriculture

The EventFarm in Hall 3.2 will once again be presenting the entire spectrum of modern agriculture in this anniversary year of Grüne Woche. Under the motto ‘Securing food. Protecting nature,’ the agricultural sector will be demonstrating how innovation, responsibility and diversity work together. More than 70 partners from the fields of agriculture, science, technology, processing and food retail are jointly designing the hall.

Lea Fließ, Managing Director of Forum Moderne Landwirtschaft: “Agriculture stands for food security, climate protection and innovation in equal measure. The EventFarm shows how diverse and solution-oriented the industry is – from plant breeding and modern animal husbandry to digital technologies in the field. At the same time, dialogue and transparency are central, especially in the anniversary year of the AgrarScouts and during the UN Year of Women in Agriculture.

Insights into the entire value chain

The EventFarm takes visitors through the various stages of food production – from soil fertility, seeds, digital farming technology, crop production, plant protection, modern animal husbandry and animal welfare to processing, marketing and food retail.

Special stations illustrate the role that cycles, nutrient management, research and innovation play in sustainability and efficiency. Multimedia modules, hands-on activities and interactive areas help to make complex relationships understandable.

Technology, innovation and future topics

Autonomous machines, digital sensor technology, AI-supported analysis methods and new breeding technologies show how technical developments contribute to the future viability of agriculture. Partners such as agricultural engineering companies, research institutions, technology companies and start-ups focus on climate adaptation, resource efficiency and smart agriculture.

‘Technology is not an end in itself – it makes agriculture more precise, sustainable and resilient. At the EventFarm, visitors can experience how innovation works in barns, fields and supply chains,’ emphasises Lea Fließ.

Modern animal husbandry – explained and made transparent

Modern animal husbandry is on display in Hall 3.2: models, simulations and exhibits illustrate how animal welfare, stable technology and sustainable cycles interact. The focus is on both scientific findings and everyday life on farms. In addition, a collaboration with Tierwohl TV provides real insights into livestock housing.

Plant breeding, plant protection & arable farming

Plant production is one of the central pillars of the EventFarm. Hall 3.2 shows how modern plant breeding and precise plant protection help to ensure stable harvests while reducing the use of resources. Visitors will gain insights into current research, new varieties, resilient plants for climate change and innovative arable farming methods – from regenerative methods to smart-controlled digitalisation in the field.

2026 – The Year of Women in Agriculture

The International Year of Women in Agriculture is a thematic focus. Content highlights the role of women in business, consulting, science, education and politics. Discussion formats and stage programmes address new role models, equal opportunity and the recruitment of skilled workers.

AgrarScouts celebrate their 10th anniversary

Over 800 farmers from all over Germany are now involved as AgrarScouts. At the EventFarm, they accompany political delegations, school classes and trade fair visitors, explain their work, answer questions and provide guidance on topics such as arable farming, animal husbandry, technology and sustainability.

‘The AgrarScouts stand for active dialogue. They translate specialist knowledge into everyday language and build trust – which is exactly what the social debate needs,’ says Fließ.

Stage programme & dialogue formats

A wide-ranging programme awaits visitors on the stage in Hall 3.2 – from talks on innovation and climate adaptation to expert insights on biodiversity, breeding and soil fertility, to live demonstrations on animal welfare, technology and crop production.

Discussion panels with representatives from politics, science, agriculture and the food industry will highlight the breadth of topics. The UN Year of Women and young people in green professions are also fixed items on the programme.

Adventure trails – the interactive ‘scavenger hunt’

Visitors to the EventFarm can explore the diversity of the industry via themed adventure trails. The interactive ‘scavenger hunt’ leads to selected stands and offers playful knowledge stations on animals, technology, nature and soil. Collected stamps can be redeemed at a central rest area for a drink and a collectible cup with an agricultural motif.
