The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel receives the President of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou with full military honours at the chancellery in Berlin this morning.

President Issoufou, who is on a three-day official visit to Germany was accompanied by his foreign minister Mohamed Bazoum, and a number of his cabinet members.
President Issoufou is also scheduled to address a meeting of German business leaders in Berlin.
During his stay, the two leaders will discuss bilateral relations betwen Germany and Niger as well as the situation in Mali. Regional and African issues are also expected to feature prominently on the business agenda.
