The Ghana Ambassador to Germany, Prf. Ohene Adjei, has urged the executives of the NDC Professionals Forum (PROFORUM) to work collectively to deepen Ghana’s democratic dispensation.
He emphasised the urgent need for the PROFORUM to become a powerhouse of ideas and a beacon of unity within the rank and file of the Ghanaian community.
Addressing the inaugural meeting of the Forum in Berlin recently, Prof Ohene Adjei, observed that “today we are not just launching an organization,” adding that “we are igniting renewed hope.
“We are reaffirming our commitment to service.
The ambassador says that Ghana’s democratic journey had been one of resilience and progress since the dawn of the Fourth Republic, the country’s political landscape had matured through peaceful transitions, vibrant civic engagement, and the enduring will of the Ghanaian people.
Prof. Ohene Adjei stressed that within Ghana’s democratic framework, political parties have remained the vehicles through which ideas were shaped, leadership nurtured and national transformation was pursued.
The Ghanaian envoy to Federal Republic of Germany observed that it was within this “noble responsibility that this organization PROFORUM is being inaugurated today.
“This body must become more than an organization. It must be a powerhouse of ideas, a mobilizing force at all levels within a society and a beacon of unity within our ranks. It must embody discipline, loyalty, competence, and innovation.
“We must remember that political organization is not about noise—it is about structure. It is not about slogans—it is about strategy. It is not about positions—it is about purpose.

The core mission of PROFORUM, which has branches in all 16 Regions in Ghana as well as in the US, UK, China and Russia, include the following:
1. To mobilize effectively and expand the reach of our party across every community.
2. To nurture and mentor the next generation of leaders.
3. To champion policies that address unemployment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
4. To uphold the core values of integrity, accountability, and service to the Ghanaian people.
Prof. Ohene Adjei told members of PROFORUM to “debate vigorously, but we must always depart as a family.”
“Unity,” the ambassador told the assembled delegate, was not uniformity, “it is a shared commitment to a greater cause.”
With the world undergoing tremendous changes technologically, the Ambassador urged members of the organization to be guided by innovative ideas in areas such as pursuit political communication, youth engagement, digital mobilization as well as policy advocacy.
Prof. Ohene Adjei called on the organization to lead in leveraging technology and research to strengthen Ghana’s global competitiveness.
