From 5th – 7th October the travel expo “Magical Kenya” took place in Nairobi in “Bomas of Kenya”.

ANA’s Niels Bartels spoke for AfricaNewsAnalysis with different exhibitors about their goals and expectations. One of them was Uganda – the country which is also known as the “Pearl of Africa”.

The Deputy CEO of Uganda Tourism Board, Bradford Ochieng, said in an interview with AfricaNewsAnalysis that Kenya is a very important market for Uganda and during many years Kenya was the number one source market for Uganda.

Furthermore he said: “We have seen a lot of enquiries and a lot of interest, from the private sector, hosted buyers and also the media – they are trying to enquire about our country. So far so good – we are very happy with what we achieved here”.

One of the next important events for Uganda is their expo (“POATE”) which they will host in Kampala from 8th-11th February 2023.

The travel expo Magical Kenya was therefore an opportunity for Uganda to market their own event in February 2023 and to invite prospective exhibitors and media to their expo.

Besides that Uganda will as well participate in the ITB in Germany in March 2023.
