Mnyaka Sururu Mboro, founding and board member of Berlin Postkolonial e.V., is an activist from Tanzania whose campaign includes the return of human remains stolen from ex-German colonies in Africa and brought to Germany for the purpose of racist research. Another of his campaigns include the renaming of streets that were named after German colonial criminals. He is actively involved in renaming these streets after African resistance fighters.
In this video, he talks about the importance of decolonizing our minds. This can be possible by being aware of modern-day neo-colonialist practices and beliefs since most of them are ingrained in us. Once we break free from these beliefs (such as the idealization of Europe) and think of ways to improving our countries back home, then we can strive for a stronger future.
