“I know the expectation is so high, but Father alone cannot do much.
I believe when we work together, we will achieve our aims. As a community, as children of God, I believe we will be able to achieve our aim,” Rev. Fr. Duodu stressed.

In a message read on her behalf by Mr Francis Kotia, Head of Chancery, the Ghana Ambassador to Germany, Her Excellency Ms Akua Senaa Dansua, urged the congregation to pray for peace in “our country” particularly in this election year.

She expressed the hope that Rev. Fr. Duodu would “effectively guide his flock that has been entrusted in his care and help them deepen their faith even as they live and work outside our homeland Ghana.”

She reminded the congregation of Ghana’s 59th independence anniversary which was being celebrated on the same day as the Installation Mass for the new Bishop.

This year’s anniversary is under the theme: “Investing in the youth for Ghana’s transformation”.

The ambassador urged members of the congregation to “offer special prayers for the youth of Ghana who are the country’s future leaders.

”I therefore call on all Ghanaians in Germany to be Ambassadors of peace especially during the upcoming general elections in Ghana to ensure peace and stability before, during and after the election.congregation1

“We want to urge that anytime you interact with your friends and families, your relatives, your love ones back home, peace should be at the centre of your conversations or interactions.

“No country can make any progress; can develop without peace, security and stability. We are all witnesses of the international crisis that is engulfing this world. Crisis, that resulted in people leaving their countries running away from war and instability to other countries. We don’t want to witness such things in Ghana. It is therefore, our hope that come this year’s elections, everyone of us, each one of us will make it a point to sustain the peace and stability that Ghana has enjoyed over the years.

Ambassador Dansua observed that this year’s election will not be the first in the history of Ghana. “We have had so many elections since 1992 and Ghana after each election has remained one united country, and that is what we are looking for in this year’s election as well. So as we pray, as we meet together as Ghanaians lets constantly remind ourselves of the duty to preserve the peace and unity of our country.
