The donation, done on Friday, was to support the Nima community as well as the entire Muslim community in the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.

She said the presentation, which formed the second in the series of presentations to the Chief Imam, was also to strengthen the cordial relationship that exists between both parties.

Ambassador Sharon Bar-li said both Islam and Judaism share the same beliefs and practice, and as the Eid-ul-Adha symbolizes the obedience of man to their creator, God, they found it appropriate to share and contribute to the celebration.

She said her office is ready to support any community and religious sects in Ghana since her role as an Ambassador is to serve the whole nation and not just one community or sect.

Ambassador Sharon Bar-li said “we share in both your grief and sorrows, so we would be ever ready to provide the needed support when the need arises”.

She thanked the Chief Imam for receiving them wholeheartedly, saying it is important to build and nurture dialogue as it would build trust and understanding between individuals and groups.

Mr Ahmed Nii Nortey, Public Relations Manager, Office of the Chief Imam, receiving the items, thanked the Ambassador for the presentation.

He said the Muslim community really appreciated the kind gesture and would seek a credible partnership and better relationships between them.

Mr Nortey expressed the hope that the presentation would not be the last but the beginning of a strong relationship between them.
