Supreme Court: Ghanaians, Do Not Blame Akufo-Addo

Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, the Chief Justice of Ghana

It is not the fault of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that the Justices of the Supreme Court are fooling on the Bench and not doing themselves any good at the current election petition before the Court.

Remember, the Justices swore an Oath of Office in the following manner:

“I, Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, do solemnly swear or affirm that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, according to the best of my abilities and understanding. So, help me God.

They did not hold the Bible to swear an Oath to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and, moreover, Akufo-Addo is not sitting on the Bench with a gun in his hand pointing at the heads of the Justices.

The Justices led by Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah have every opportunity to be independent, fair and impartial interpreters of the law as they swore to do.

If upon all these they have decided to do the opposite it cannot possibly be the fault of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

What is the interest in behaving the way they are behaving? Is it not that the Supreme Court is there to protect the law?

Does the Supreme Court believe Ghanaians have a right to demand answers why the following conflicting figures were declared by the Returning Officer for the 2020 Presidential Election?

13,434,574 votes
13,119,460 votes
13,572,671 votes
13,562,592 votes
13,274,478 votes
13,433,573 votes

Where in the world has there ever been six different figures in a single election? Which of the above figures is the Supreme Court relying on?

If the Justices have elected to twist the system to favour and shield Akufo-Addo and Mrs Jean Mensa. Why they are doing that is best known to them.

By so doing, the Justices of the Supreme Court in Ghana are toying with the destiny of their own country. So, it is immaterial that they swore to be fair, just and impartial?

Ghanaians should not blame Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
