PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO; GHANA’S MALIGNANT TUMOR: By AO & KN IN ACCRA

Leaders who preside over the weakening of their independent state institutions do no good for their countries. A true and loyal citizen will rather strengthen those institutions. Strong institutions are what makes a country great.Sitting here in Accra, we wonder the type of democracy Ghana is practicing under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The self-acclaimed human rights lawyer is presiding over the erosion of democracy in Ghana. He has assembled irregular security services who operate as his private army.Akufo-Addo has discarded Ghana’s democratic traditions by his continued efforts to subvert the will of the people. He has no allegiance to the Constitution of the country but to the ideology called Akufo-Addoism.Akufo-Addoism is a conspiratorial policy and agenda to torpedo Ghana’s democratic dispensation. It is a poisonous concept that is against independent state institutions, a monstrous ideology that needs to be rejected by Ghanaians, particularly the youth.Akufo-Addo has turned Ghana into a country where a citizen dare not criticize the president or his policies.Journalists in Ghana are today working under the watch of Akufo-Addo’s armed private security operatives who are clothed in official army and police uniforms. When in a radio or television discussion you criticize Akufo-Addo’s policies or programmes, you receive a threatening telephone call from members of his murderous private army.Assassinations have taken place under the watch of Ghana’s so-called Human Rights lawyer president and the culprits have never been found till today. Since his assumption of office as President of the Republic of Ghana six years ago, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has demonstrated the characteristics of a “primary tumor” in Ghana’s democratic dispensation. He has assumed the role of a “Malignant Tumor” attacking all state institutions. He has become invasive. Like a Tumor, he has over the past six years, invaded such institutions like the Central Bank, the Auditor General, the Supreme Court, the Media, the Electoral Commission and the National House of Chiefs among others.Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has, like a malignant tumor, destroyed the independence of Ghana’s revered Supreme Court. He has packed the court with his learned vigilante forces who interpret the law to suit him.Akufo-Addo is, like a cancerous cell in the body-politic of Ghana, and, like a tumor, growing out of control, and, in medical parlance, he is capable of metastasizing. In simple terms, this means, he is able to leave the confines of the Presidency, and like cancer, infect other parts of Ghana’s healthy “cells”, namely, the country’s independent institutions.Wherever this Ghanaian president installed his “cells”, namely his appointees, the once vibrant institutions of state have lost their ability to grow; they have gone rogue, creating problems for their ability to function impartially and efficiently. The treatment of malignant tumours is, among other methods, through an operation. Election 2020 in Ghana was like an operation to cut the “Malignant Tumor”, in this case, Akufo-Addo, out. But he refuses to go, what a tumor cannot do.So, Akufo-Addo, in effect, is dangerous than a tumor.A good president full of vision and love for country’s future, invest in the young people of the country they lead. Akufo-Addo does not invest in the youth of Ghana. Akufo-Akko kills the youths of Ghana in cold-blood.Remember Techiman South? Do not forget Ablekuma Central where two people, including a 14-year old girl lost their lives. Do not forget Banda. Remember the Zongo Seven in the Ashanti Region. Those are the fine legacy of Akufo-Addo. Oh, do not forget the Takoradi girls. Do not forget the policemen on Bullion vans killed by police officers.Simonides Epitaph to the 300 soldiers who died vs the Persians at Thermopylae: “GO TELL the SPARTANS, stranger passing by, that here, obedient to THEIR LAWS, we lie.”A message to Akufo-Addo from all those young people of Ghana who lost their lives at polling stations throughout the country in the hands of Akufo-Addo’s murderous machine. When citizens are murdered, Akufo-Addo has devised a strategy of not saying anything. How do medical professionals fight and defeat Malignant Tumors? There are a number of modern methods to fight such tumors. One such method is to strengthen the immune system in the body. In the situation Ghana finds itself under Akufo-Addo today, the country’s “immune systems”, namely its democratic institutions, must be strengthened.Ghanaians must create, and devise their own local means of defeating this anomaly, that is slowly destroying their body politic.
