The National Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Richard Quashiga, has great doubts that an alleged attack on the private residence of the NPP Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central on Sunday is real.
A group of people allegedly vandalized Sheikh I.C. Quaye’s family house at Alajo on Sunday for purportedly hoarding arms there. The MP who described the arms allegation as “stupid” has pointed accusing fingers at some known members of the National Democratic Congress for the attack.
“In our absence some members of the NDC – who have been identified as members of the NDC – led some thugs to my family house at Alajo and vandalized the family house and smashed the windscreens of two cars, the offices of Mohas my brother, and then other family houses all over at Alajo,” I.C. Quaye told the media on Monday.
But the NDC Propaganda Secretary in a reaction told Citi FM the largest opposition party has planned series of stage-managed events to paint the NDC black in order to discredit it and create dissatisfaction for the party.
“Intelligence report we (NDC) have as a political party is that the NPP is beginning to stage-manage situation and create the impression that the NDC is violent…[and] paint the NDC in bad light to justify Nana Addo’s ‘all die be die’ comment.”
He did not therefore rule out the possibility that “I.C. Quaye could have stage-managed a thing like that if his accusation is that the NDC thugs or NDC members had actually attacked his home”.
Meanwhile Sheikh I.C. Quaye has reported the alleged attack to the police.
