Speaking at the first ever rally of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the year 2012 at the Mantse Agboena, James Town in Accra, President Mills said his first term was used to “remove all impediments” in order to pave the way for better conditions of service in Ghana in the years ahead.
The President said his “unprecedented achievements” speak for themselves and there is no need for his officials to spend so much time to chronicle them.

“There are so many things we can point at [as achievements],” Mills told the teeming crowd of NDC supporters. “Action speaks louder than words. Those who have nothing to show will only resort to insults and lies.”

He admonished his officials and supporters not to engage in the politics of insults that have characterised the campaign season.

“Let us not waste time on insults and lies. If Ghana is being praised it is not for nothing. Let us give praise where it is due. If this is supposed to be a party in disarray then I can’t imagine a party held together.
“Let us be positive and not listen to the cries of those who are disappointed because we’ll remain disappointed,” President Mills pointed out.

President Mills encouraged all NDC fans to register when the biometric registration exercise begins on March 24.

The rally served as a platform to introduce all the parliamentary candidates of the Greater Accra Region. Several of the party bigwigs including the General Secretary, John Asiedu Nketia, Greater Accra Chairman, Ade Coker, National Organiser, Yaw Boateng Gyan and Alhaji Hudu Yahya, the first vice chairperson among others addressed the crowd.
