Kutaisi and Georgia

Kutaisi is the capital of the western region of Imereti. The medieval cityscape has been well preserved to this day and offers a whole host of impressive sightseeing attractions, including the Bagrati Cathedral and the Gelati Monastery – both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Kutaisi is the ideal starting point for discovering Georgia. The land between Caucasus and the Black Sea has not yet really made a name for itself as a travel destination. One good reason therefore to discover this interesting and particularly varied country at the intersection of Europe and Asia. Here you will find everything from beach resorts and remote mountain regions to deserts. Georgia is one of the oldest countries in the world. As the frontier between East and West, it is considered a cradle of ancient civilisation.
