Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz today received the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Antoine Tshilombo Tshisekedi, at the Federal Chancellery.
After welcoming the African leader at Court of Honour of the Chancellery, the two leaders met for informal talks and a joint dinner.
The talks were also believed to centre on economic relations between Germany and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The two leaders also discussed the conflict in eastern Congo.
In 2023, the Democratic Republic of the Congo became the 13th country to join the G20 Compact with Africa programme.
Bilateral relations between Germany and the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The German government supports the consolidation of the democratic process and promotes sustainable political and economic reforms in order to counteract further destabilisation of the country and the region.
The German government pays special attention on improving the security and humanitarian situation of the DRC, particularly in eastern Congo.
