Feature: Why I write on contemporary Ghanaian political issues, explains Dr Michael J.K. Bokor – An observation By Frankie Asare-Donkor

Oh, so Michael J. K. Bokor knows that one can express one’s ideas. He writes: “I have no regrets for pushing my conviction” Interesting!

I had thought that as a former (or a practising journalist?) and academic, he would be civil towards others who also express their views and would not insult them. My little experience in academia is that academics criticise works of other but do not insult. But that is not Bokor.

In October this year, after I had also expressed my views (as he, Bokor has done and has promised to continue) on Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe and his relationship with the NPP, he attacked my person and described me as failed journalist at Graphic, yet he did not show any proof of what he meant by my being a failed journalist at Graphic.

Is it not a shame for Michael J. K. Bokor to say that “I have no regrets for pushing my conviction” but would not want others to exercise the same rights? Indeed, we are living in a world of sycophants and hypocrites.

Was Michael J. K. Bokor also a failed journalist at the Ghana News Agency (GNA), and that’s why he left? Can he show the world his achievements as a journalist at GNA?

Anyway, let me wish him well for having the guts to tell the world that he has no regrets for pushing his conviction, but insults others who also express their views.
