You see, the problem with the Kufuor-Kyerematen factionalists – I hope this is not some Mahama-sponsored agent-provocateur playing games with me here – is a psychiatric pathology called “Asante Supremacy.” It’s a delusion of an unprovable sense of superiority over one’s fellow Ghanaian citizen. Well, following the publication of my straight-shooting article titled “Kufuor Has Been Sabotaging Akufo-Addo Since 2008,” some godforsaken bastard calling himself Austin Kwaku Duah Asafu-Adjaye (his e-mail actually read “Asafu-Adjei) wrote to me claiming farcically that “even the Omanhene of Bekwai is superior to the Okyenhene,” let alone the Asantehene. The obvious response here is: Then why use the adverbial word “even” to qualify the Bekwaihene? The writer also described himself as “a sensible Asanteman [sic], and a native of Asante Bekwai.” But it was quite clear that Mr. Asafu-Adjaye was not really sure of himself. He also cautioned yours truly against attempting to fatuously compare Nana Akufo-Addo to Mr. John Agyekum-Kufuor; and then he quickly added, “You Akyem fools!”

To which my gut response jetted out of my mouth as follows: If Akyems are that stupid, Mr. Asafu-Adjaye, then why did Mr. Agyekum-Kufuor, campaigning for the Osu Castle and the Flagstaff House in 1996, 2000 and 2004 mentioned the names of Drs. J. B. Danquah, K. A. Busia and Mr. S. D. Dombo, and not either the Asantehene or the Bekwaihene? In other words, what I want Mr. Asafu-Adjaye to understand loud and clear is that other than Divine Providence, yours truly absolutely owes no allegiance or tribute to any human personality either in Ghana or anywhere around the globe. He, however, has a well-calibrated modicum of respect for the Asantehene, largely emanating from the fact of his own ancestor, through his Nkoranza and Asiakwa lineages, being King Osei-Tutu, I, the founder of the Asante Empire. You see, you cannot get bigger than that!

Mr. Asafu-Adjaye has also promised to convene a conference of Asante confederates in Kumasi to strategize on how to prevent Nana Akufo-Addo from either campaigning or holding rallies in the Asante Region. Well, that is no news to those of us avid students of Fourth Republican Ghanaian Politics who have been closely following the troglodytic shenanigans of the Kufuor-Kyerematen faction of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr. Asafu-Adjaye also assured me that he would be closely collaborating with the Asantehene and former President Kufuor to ensure the “resounding defeat of Akufo-Addo by President Mahama” in the 2016 general election. Now, that is rather characteristically retarded. And my very simple response to this SOB is as follows: “One bad Akufo-Addo turn deserves another bad Kyerematen turn.” In other words, it clearly appears as if Mr. Asafu-Adjaye and his associates were looking forward to life in political opposition in perpetuity. These rascals and reprobates never learn, or do they?

It also did not come as any surprise that Mr. Asafu-Adjaye would so rapturously brag about Asantes being the “greatest” drug barons in Ghana. You see, the constant use of the adjective “great” and “greatest” is the symptomatic hallmark an Asante supremacist. And on the latter score, too, let’s hear what Mr. Asafu-Adjaye himself has to say: “Ask Akufo who Joe Forson, alias Akora Forson, is. This guy is from Asante Bekwai and is a known drug baron in Amsterdam who has run away to Ghana. He travels with Akufo Addo to so many places. We are going to Ghana to hold a press conference in Kumasi about your write-ups about Otumfuo and Kufuor.” You mean a drug barons’ conference, Mr. Asafu-Adjaye?

My detractor may not like to hear this: But the fact of the matter is that Kwame Okoampa-Agyeman does not take marching orders from anybody. Like the very title of the Bekwaihene, I own myself and my every thought, action and inaction. Also, my ethnicity and/or sub-ethnicity is incidental to what my real identity is about – that is, an independent, forward-looking and critical thinker. To be certain I absolutely owe no

allegiance to any potentate. I am incurably civilized! This is the philosophy of “The Liberty of the Individual” that Dr. Danquah so eloquently preached, practiced and was brutally assassinated for.
