The third Hamburg Sustainability Conference opened in the Hanseatic City on Monday, 29 June 2026. The conference brought together high-level international representatives from politics, business, academia, and civil society.
Around 1,600 participants from 115 countries are attending the two-day conference which was opened by the German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
A total of 17 Youth Ambassadors are also atttending the conference to interact with delegates and present their innovative and scientific creations.
AfricaNewsAnalysis interviewed two of the Ambassadors, Damani Thomas, Founder at Carbon Neutral Initiative from Jamaica and Jacquiline Msambila, from Tanzania, who is working on digital inclusion and women-led start-ups focusing on AI ethics and e-governance in East Africa.
