FIFA Women`s World Cup Germany: Another 100,000 tickets on sale

With exactly 100 days to go until the Opening Match of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™ between the hosts and Canada, the final ticket sales phase has begun. The number of tickets on general sale has now been increased by 100,000 to 800,000, meaning there are a total of 285,000 tickets still available to the public.

“Due to the incredibly high demand we decided to bring the start of the final ticket sales phase for the 2011 Women’s World Cup forward to 18 March,” said LOC President Steffi Jones.

“By freeing up some of the tickets reserved for other uses, we’ve been able to make another 100,000 tickets available to the general public. This is however the final chance fans will have to secure tickets. All Germany’s group games, the quarter-final in Wolfsburg, the match for third place and the final are practically sold out.”

Tickets for all other games will be available from the start of the final sales phase, though in some cases only in certain categories. From 9:00 CET on 18 March onwards, all tickets and any returns will be made available on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis as part of the ‘Last Minute Sales’ phase.

A staggering 515,000 tickets have already been snapped up in the first four sales periods. Of course ticket sales are the primary source of recovering the Germany 2011 budget of €51m.

Tickets can be ordered via the official online shop FIFA.com/germany2011, as well as the hotline 01805 / 06 2011 (0.14 € / min from a German landline, mobile prices may vary). Tickets are priced between €15 (young persons aged 16 or under for all group stage matches, excluding the opening match, as well as for the match for third place) and €200 (final at the Frankfurt World Cup Arena).
